Barely a few days after a grand reception was organised in Gwara Community, Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State to welcome a former chairman of the area, Chief Gbene Lekue Zini and his supporters into the Renewed Hope Family, the defectors have once again demonstrated their commitment to the movement with a courtesy visit to the  chairman of the area, Dr. Thomas Bariere. ‎‎

The visit, which took place  at the Chairman’s residence, was aimed at further reassuring the leadership of the Renewed Hope Family of their total loyalty and resolve to remain steadfast under the leadership of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief  Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

‎‎Speaking during the visit, Chief Zini led his supporters cutting across several wards in the area, including some former councillors, and formally presented them to the council chairman. He explained that their defection from the Simplified Movement was a well-considered decision driven by their desire to align with purposeful and people-oriented leadership.‎‎

According to the defectors, their decision was largely influenced by what they described as the visible and transformative leadership style of Dr. Thomas Bariere, particularly his strides in infrastructural development, human capital development, peace building and grassroots governance.
