The inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Rivers State took place on Friday, January 30th, 2026, at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt, attracting a massive turnout of party faithful, grassroots supporters, and political leaders across the state.
The event was graced by the Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr. Thomas Bariere, alongside other local government chairmen and top political dignitaries. Also in attendance was the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, whose presence added weight to the programme.
Supporters from Khana LGA turned out in large numbers, contributing to what many described as an overwhelming show of acceptance of the Renewed Hope agenda in Rivers State. The gathering was widely seen as a political litmus test, reinforcing the growing dominance of the Renewed Hope movement in the state.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the event, Dr. Thomas Bariere said the massive turnout was a clear indication that Rivers State has embraced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.
“What has happened here today shows clearly that Rivers State is Renewed Hope, and Renewed Hope is Rivers State. President Tinubu has done well for us, and as a grateful people, we have come together to speak with one voice that come 2027, Mr. President will get our full support,” he stated.
Bariere also commended President Tinubu for his intervention in restoring democratic stability in the state.
“I must commend Mr. President for his stand in resolving the Rivers State crisis. Democracy was almost dead here, and without his intervention, it would have been difficult for us to function as a people,” he said.
He further acknowledged the role of the FCT Minister, Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, describing his contributions as critical to the political stability currently enjoyed in the state.
Bariere noted that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will embark on intensive grassroots mobilisation across polling units and wards, with a unified message of support for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
“We have a leader who believes in allowing democracy to thrive. That is what President Tinubu represents, and that is why we are not only asking him to present himself in 2027, but we are also assuring him of massive votes,” he added.
The Khana LGA Chairman revealed that the forthcoming Khana by-election scheduled for February 21st would serve as a test case for the Renewed Hope movement ahead of 2027.
“The Renewed Hope family has endorsed and adopted Mrs. Bulabari Henrietta Dinebari Loolo, the APC candidate, and that election will show what to expect in 2027,” he concluded.
