Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr. Thomas Bariere has congratulated candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mrs. Bulabari Henrietta Loolo on her victory in last Saturday’s Khana II State Constituency by-election.
Bariere, who also serves as Coordinator of Khana Renewed Hope, recalled his earlier statement during the electioneering campaign that the poll would serve as a test case for what to expect in 2027 regarding the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He stated that the outcome of the election, which saw Loolo emerge victorious with a wide margin, reflects the confidence of the people of the area in the Renewed Hope agenda.
The council chairman commended members of the Renewed Hope family and the people of Khana Constituency II for turning out en masse to exercise their franchise. He described the election as peaceful, free and fair, and expressed optimism that the member-elect will deliver effective representation and uphold democratic values.
Similarly, Deputy Minority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly and member representing Khana Constituency I, Mrs. Barile Austine Nwakoh, in her congratulatory message to Mrs. Loolo, described her emergence as historic, noting that it marks the first time two women are representing the two state constituencies in Khana LGA.
She expressed confidence that the member-elect will deliver the dividends of democracy and uphold democratic principles.
Mrs Nwakoh appreciated the people of Khana Constituency II for trusting in the capacity and leadership of a female candidate.
