Khana chairman budgets N17bn for 2026

Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Chief Dr. Thomas Bariere, has formally presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill, tagged the “Budget of Redemption,” to the Khana 10th Legislative Assembly on  February 5, 2026

‎The proposed budget stands at a total of ₦17,286,930,855.10 (Seventeen billion, two hundred and eighty-six million, nine hundred and thirty thousand, eight hundred and fifty-five naira, ten kobo).

‎According to the chairman, recurrent expenditure is ₦12,720,430,855.10 (72.8% of the total budget) while capital expenditure is ₦4,566,500,000.00 (26.2% of the total budget)

‎While addressing the councillors, the Chairman urged councillors to expedite the consideration and approval of the bill to enable timely implementation of developmental projects across all wards of the local government area.

‎In his response, the Leader of the Khana 10th Legislative Assembly, Barr. Albright Gobari Deebom, assured the Chairman of the Assembly’s commitment to a thorough and prompt review process, noting that councillors would work collaboratively to ensure the swift passage of the bill.

‎The presentation was witnessed by Mr. Odukpor Kenneth,Head of local government Administration alongside other local government directors, staff, and political appointees, underscoring a shared commitment to the growth and development of Khana Local Government Area.
