Biiranee Memorial Foundation has paid the fees and also approved monthly stipends for students from Bua-Zaakpon community in Khana LGA.
The beneficiaries, who earlier received free JAMB forms from the foundation and later secured admission into various tertiary institutions, received payments covering their school fees and stipends for the upkeep on March 10, 2026.
Speaking during the presentation, Managing Director of the foundation, Dr. Samuel Penu commended the students for their dedication to their studies and urged them to remain good ambassadors of the foundation and the Bua-Zaakpon community.
He cautioned them against social vices such as examination malpractice, cultism, drug abuse, cyber-crime, prostitution, and other forms of criminal behaviour that could tarnish the reputation of the foundation.
Penu explained that the introduction of monthly stipends alongside the payment of school fees was aimed at easing the financial burden on their parents and guardians while enabling the students to focus fully on their academic pursuits. He also encouraged them to strive for academic excellence, noting that outstanding performance could attract additional support from the foundation.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mmyere Leeleebari, an ND1 student of Science Laboratory Technology at Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, expressed gratitude to the foundation and its Chairman, Friday Baridakara Biiranee, for the opportunity given to them.
Other beneficiaries, including Barisudor Lipnee, a 200-level student of Agricultural Economics and Extension at Rivers State University, and Hallelujah Zegenee, a 200-level Mathematics student at the University of Port Harcourt, also appreciated the foundation for its support.
They described the scholarship scheme as a life-changing opportunity and pledged to remain committed to their studies while upholding the values of the foundation and their community.
