KAGOTE Education Intervention Committee on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, met with the Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr. Thomas Bariere, at his residence in Baen community, where they formally presented their report on the state of primary education in Ogoni.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Committee, Chief Bodo Edoo, outlined key findings from their assessment, highlighting challenges and opportunities within the primary education sector across the region. The submission marks a significant step in ongoing efforts to improve educational standards and outcomes in Ogoniland.
In his response, Dr. Thomas commended the committee for its commitment and thorough work. He emphasized that the people of Khana remain progressive partners in all initiatives aimed at advancing education, noting that education remains a critical pillar for sustainable development. He further assured the committee of the council’s continued support in implementing recommendations that will uplift the sector.
Furthermore, in a move to strengthen collaboration, the council Boss nominated his Chief of Staff, Dr. Daniel Dorka, to serve as the Khana Local Government Council’s representative on the committee. This, he noted, will ensure effective coordination and active participation of the council in the committee’s activities.
