A suspected cult leader identified simply as Keebee from Lorre Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, has reportedly stabbed to death, a youth a leader in the community by name Lewuga Mark Obegu.
Keebee who is said to be an Iceland cult leader in the community committed the crime on Wednesday in the community.
According to community sources, Keebee was allegedly assaulting a female said to be his girlfriend. A community member who witnesed the incident reported to Obegu, who ran to rescue the lady. He was however, stabbed in the process with a knive by the suspected cultist leading to his death.
The source said the situation has caused panic in the community, saying this is the second youth leader to be killed in the area this year following the assassination of the youth leader of Baa Lorre in January this year by yet to be identified assailants.
The latest killing the source noted, indicates a resurgence of violent crimes in the Nyor-Khana axis of the LGA. Recall that just few months ago, a first class paramount ruler, King Suanu Baridam (Gbenemene Bangha Kingdom) was attacked by suspected gunmen, causing damage to his car while the monarch and his drivers escaped with gun injuries.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command was yet to comment on the matter at the time of filing as the Police Public Relations, ASP Blessing Agabe was yet to respond to an inquiry sent to her.
