Sporadic shootings near UNIPORT

Reports say there have been sporadic gunshots at Owhipa, Choba,  in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Choba is one of the host communities of the University of Port Harcourt.

It was gathered that the shooting which lasted for over thirty minutes caused panic among residents of the area.

There have been cult-related killings in the area of recent  with reports of beheading by rival cult groups.

Three  persons were killed in the area earlier on Wednesday.

As at the time of filing this report, the reason behind the shooting has not been ascertain.

Also, the police is yet t comment on the matter, but the chairman of the council via a statement ion his facebook page said normalcy has returned to the area.
