Council chair places N2m bounty on wanted kidnapper, Oscar Welle

Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Samuel Nwanosike has placed a N2 million reward for anyone with useful information which will lead to the arrest of a notorious kidnap kingpin in Ubima community of the LGA, Oscar Welle.

Nwanosike said in a press statement after a security meeting at the Council said that Welle was responsible for kidnapping and other criminal activities bedeviling the area.

The council boss accused Welle of the recent killing and cutting off the legs of a Siat staffer at Ubima, and kidnapping a woman, her daughter and driver along Ozuaha/Omagwa, and the hijacking of a fully-loaded bus along Port- Harcourt/Owerri Road.

He said that the security agencies have also launched a manhunt for the arrest of Mr Oscar Welle.

“Such person with the useful information that will lead to his arrest is advised to relay it to the Council’s Chairman at the Secretariat, Isiokpo, and reward will be given instantly,” he said.
