NDDC boss fights cholera in Rivers

Ag. Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari has taken steps to stop further fatality in the outbreak of cholera in Rivers State.

According to a statement by her media aide, Bekee Anyalewechi, Semenitari on Tuesday donated drugs to Soku community in Degema local government area of state to stem the outbreak of the disease in the community.
The NDDC boss had earlier, dispatched a team of doctors from the Commission and medicine to the area when it received a distress call from the community.

The cholera outbreak we learnt had claimed had about 7 lives before the NDDC intervention.
The donation was to sustain the level of success made by the NDDC medical team which is still in the area.
while receiving the donations unbehalf of the community, Mr. Peter Otiosa, a community leader, praised Semenitari for her speedy response to the SOS call they made.

“We have always known that you’re someone with tender heart who cares for others”, Otiosa said in his remark.
Soku is one of the coastal oil-producing communities in Rivers State.
