The whereabouts of a lecturer of the Linguistics and Communications Department of the University of Port Harcourt who was abducted on Sunday is still unknown.
Dr Jones Ajuwu was abducted Sunday evening at gunpoint in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State on his way back from an event in Andoni Local Government Area.
The gunmen reportedly drove away in the lecturer’s car.
Nnamdi Omoni, spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command while confirming the development, said the command is yet to be fully briefed on the incident.
Also, the management of UNIPORT is yet to comment on the matter.
