Rep Abiante condemns abduction of King Ikuru, Ayuwu

The lawmaker representing Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, Awaji-inombek Dagomie Abiante, has condemned the abduction of His Majesty King Dr. Aaron. M Ikuru, Okan-Ama of Ikuru Town, in Andoni local government area of Rivers State.

Abiante in a statement he personally signed, described the act as a desecration of the revered tradition, culture and belief of the people  and appealed to the abductors to release him unconditionally.

In the same vein, the lawmaker is also calling for the release of Dr. Jones Ayuwu, a lecturer of University of Port Harcourt who was also abducted by yet to be identified gunmen.

Ayuwu was reportedly abducted on Sunday in Bori on his way returning from Andoni while King Ikuru was abducted in his hometown, Ikuru by unknown gunmen.   

 The lawmaker stressed that, things such these impedes the development of the area and portrays the Obolo nation in a bad light.
