Rivers youth leader declared wanted by govt says he is innocent

The Rivers state government has declared a youth, Mr Genesis Miebaka alias Ikpaki wanted for alleged criminal activities and harassment of contractors in the State.

Paulinus Nsirim the state’s commissioner for information said in a terse statement that law enforcement agencies have been directed to arrest and prosecute him immediately.

But Mr. Miebaka has come out to declared that he is innocent of the allegations against him.

Miebaka who said he is the community laison officer representing Okrika speaking communities in Port Harcourt City to Julius Berger told journalists how community members complained how they were locked out in a meeting with representatives of the company.

His words: “My people that I’m representing are accusing me that I’m partnering with Julius Berger to frustrate them not to have jobs in the company. The community no longer listens to me, they moved themselves to book for a meeting and the person who booked for the meeting that is causing problem was called by Public Relations Officer of the company, Chief Sam Ngbor and they never told me about the meeting.  When my people called me, I rushed to see the PRO and he now told me to go back and beg them onbehalf of the company which I did.

He further expressed shock when the news broke out that he was declared wanted by the government.
