Independence: Buhari must go protest rock Abuja as president names sponsors of secessionist groups

Some Nigerians Friday morning, filed to the streets in Abuja  to protest the anti people policies of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration

The protesters, who set bonfire on Dantata bridge along Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport road  chanting ; Buhari Must Go, condemned the increase in the prizes of the staple foods couple with  the frightening tale of growing menace of insecurity in the country.

They called for the resignation of the president over his incompetence which they said  has brought untold hardship and agony on Nigerians.

However, a detachment of anti riot policemen  were sent to dispersed the protesters with teargas canisters and cleared the road.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has said that some financiers of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and the Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho have been identified.

In his speech on Friday to mark the 2021 Independence Day, the President revealed that a serving member of the National Assembly had been identified as one of the sponsors of secession in the country.

According to him, his government was vigorously pursuing the financiers, saying the alleged sponsors have abandoned their leadership responsibilities for what he termed as selfish gain.

The President said, “The recent arrests of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Adeyemo, and the ongoing investigations being conducted have revealed certain high-profile financiers behind these individuals.

“We are vigorously pursuing these financiers, including one identified as a serving member of the National Assembly. This is a clear example of how people abandon their national leadership positions for their selfish gains.

“Instead of preaching unity, they are funding and misleading our youth to conduct criminal acts that sometimes lead to unfortunate and unnecessary loss of lives and property.”
