There is no hiding place for criminals in Oyigbo, OSPAC leader declares

Commander of the Oyigbo Security, Peace and Advocacy Committee (OSPAC), Isaiah Ometanjo has assured residents of the Oyigbo Local Government Area in Rivers State, of peaceful environment this year.

Speaking with newsmen in his office at Afam, Ometanjo said OSPAC under his leadership had a core mandate to improve on sanity

He said no doubt, Oyigbo OSPAC had done tremendously well .In 2022 ,we expect more in crime reduction .We are fully out for criminal elements

We can assure them that in Oyigbo there is no hiding place ,we are out for them .

Let the public cooperate with us and avail useful information to us

The robust relationship between us and the public cannot be jeopardised, hence their support

He absolved Oyigbo OSPAC of being involved in bunkering and other crimes

Omeanjo condemned the involvement of some OSPAC heads in crime and brutality, saying it is against the rules of engagement

He called on the Commissioner of Police ,CP Ebuka Friday, to ensure retired officers were assigned to head OSPAC in areas of operation

He said it would help to coordinate their behaviour and proper orientation to members as he had been doing in his locality.

Oyigbo OSPAC Commander said it would be unthinkable for anyone to contemplate dissolving OSPAC in Rivers state.

He said regular orientation as he had been doing would go along way to address the anomaly

Ometanjo commended Oyigbo Council Chairman, Elder Okechukwu Akara for his tremendous support to the local vigilante

He said Hon Akara deserves commendation for seeing security as a priority
