MOSOP dissociates self from planned resumption of oil exploration in Ogoniland

…warns NPDC to steer

Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, MOSOP has dissociated itself from negotiations for the immediate resumption of oil exploration in Ogoni between the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC and some Ogoni natives.

MOSOP in a statement signed by its Media and Public Affairs Advisor Bari-ara Kpalap warned that the company will be held responsible for any crisis that may engulf Ogoni communities as a result of the alleged move.

It warned NPDC to steer clear of Ogoniland.

MOSOP also dissociated itself from a workshop planned for Friday, June 24 by the same company alleging that it is intended to be used in deceiving unsuspecting Ogonis into buying into what it described as anti-Ogoni approach.

It called on all sons and daughters of Ogoni not to attend the said workshop as it is against collective interest of the people.
