Ahead of the 2023 governorship elections in Rivers State, tricycle riders in the state have identified Senator Magnus Abe as the one with the qualities to provide better leadership for the state and take her from the sufferings currently being experienced.
Mr. Teeh Gbokpaa Barizomdu, Chairman Rivers Keke Riders Association, stated this during a meeting at the Freedom House in Port Harcourt.
The group said Abe is the only one that has the state at heart and has the solution to the problems facing the state.
” I have looked around and a lot of people are suffering, and I have seen that it is only Senator Magnus Abe that can deliver these people through his style of leadership.
“My group are Senator Magnus Ngei Abe’s supporters in Rivers State including none indigenes, so we are supporting him to come and deliver Rivers people and the none indigenes among us,” he said.
The riders’ association chairman added that, ‘when we look around, he is the only one that can secure and protect the lives of Rivers people, we really searched around he is the only one that hold Rivers State with truth.
“We believe that what we are doing now will take us to a higher level, not only me but including the entire Rivers youths and Keke Riders Association in Port Harcourt here even in other places too, it will take them to another level every body in the entire Rivers state. Senator Magnus Ngei Abe promised us before and fulfilled his promise that’s why I believed in him and he is the only one that can say the truth in Rivers State,” he stated.
Responding, Mr Kingsley Akumafule, the leader of Freedom House Media said said they are delighted to receive the group and assured them that Abe will deliver the dividends of democracy to the state if elected.
He said, ” if it’s about Senator Magnus Abe delivering the dividends of democracy to Rivers people, its sure that everybody in this state knows that he can deliver the dividends of democracy, he will give the needed administration, he will give the needed governance that Rivers people have always yearned for”.
He added: “For the Keke Riders association I want to sincerely thank them in their own magnanimity, they came on their own, nobody coerce them, they came to speak with us, those who are working with Senator Magnus Abe even in Senator Magnus Abe’s absence, they came in their numbers, they are over 200, they just came here today to register their readiness, their preparedness, to go for SMA 2023 registration exercise and I’m very happy to see such class of persons coming out in their numbers on their own not been forced by anybody, even when Senator is not even in town, they came in such crowd to identify with Senator Magnus Abe and indicate interest to go all out to every nook and cranny, every unit every ward to register members not just registering themselves alone they are also saying that they will help to register anybody who is ready to be part of Project SMA 2023.”
He also assured them that Abe will give them a level playing field when elected.
” Senator Magnus Abe is a man of intellect, he knows the right thing to do for the Keke Riders Association and I believe that he will give them the needed operational environment that will give them that satisfaction that they will do their work with ease and also make a better living out of their business when he assumes office in 2023,” Akumafule said.
