Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have sealed a petrol station and two hotels in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The properties belong to leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, PHALGA.

The properties sealed are Mega Tools filling station owned by Dr Chinyere Igwe, Priscy Lounge at Elekahia area owned by Hon. Jones Ogbonda, and Preray Hotel in Eagle Island belonging to Sir, Ikechi Chinda, all supporters of the Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Igwe, speaking from his base in Abuja said that the incident is a political persecution by the state government over their political differences.

He said the action is politically motivated because they are all allies of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

On his part, former PHALGA PDP Chairman, Sir, Ikechi Chinda, said a staff and two lodgers are missing after security personnel arrested them early Friday morning, at his hotel in Eagle Island, Port Harcourt. He denied harbouring criminals in the hotel.

The reasons why these businesses were sealed is yet to be established but indications emerged that the action is to cow this men from further supporting Atiku in the state.
