Rivers 2023: Kalabaris are coming out to support Abe- Reps candidate

Chief Ibiosiya Sukubo, the House of Representatives  candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP,  for Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency in Rivers State has stated that Kalabari people in the state are in support of the governorship ambition of Senator Magnus Abe.

Sukubo who is also the publicity secretary of Ijaw National Congress Eastern Zone, stated this during the defection of some Kalabari youths to SDP in Rivers State]

He abe is the only solution to the myriads of problems facing the state.

Read him:

He said, “We are all out of our shattered microcosm to yet another political macrocosm. After a careful diagnosis and prognosis of the ailments of Rivers State, it is obvious that the candidature  of Sen. Magnus Ngei Abe is the only panacea for Rivers State problem”.

He added: “There is this feeling a lot of people have that Kalabari are all expecting to have a Kalabari governor as if the Kalabari people are not with Ogoni people in this team.

But today the Kalabari youths have come out expressly to make it clear to the entire Rivers State people that the Kalabari Youths are with Sen Magnus Abe.

We are here with over fifty Kalabari youths who are decamping from various political parties in Rivers State, from PDP, APC, Accord, Labour Party and they have made themselves expressly clear that they are going to be part and parcel of Sen. Magnus Abe, that is the essence of today’s engagement”.

He said further that, “the Kalabari people are assuring you unequivocally that they are with SMA and are not going back.

“Nobody would see light and follow darkness. The truth is clear. Politics is never a game of emotions, politics is never a game of intuition, but politics is a game of calculation.

“On that note it is clear now if we Kalabari people want a Kalabari governor, we have three LGAs and out of three LGAs we have six candidates, has the foundation not been destroyed?

“Can a house divided against  itself stand? But we have a candidate today who has four LGAs at his disposal and he is the only candidate. That is a solid foundation.

We have a candidate whose Senatorial District has never tasted power at the gubernatorial level in the state, we have a candidate who is the best candidate among all the candidates,  who is  better than all the candidates at the gubernatorial level, we have a candidate who has the best credibility.

“EFCC is not pursuing him here and there, it is on that note we as a people are coming out to identify with what is good.

“I am the publicity Secretary of the Ijaw National Congress, however I am not speaking for the Ijaw people but as a critical stakeholder of Ijaw land, also knowing very well that the Ogonis and the Ijaws share the same ecological challenges in the state, and it is only the Ijaws and the Ogonis that have sacrificed more blood fighting for social justice, fighting for environmental justice, there is no reason why we the Ijaws are not going to support such candidate to emerge.

“I have stated without fear or favour that the dialectics of reconciling two conflicting ideas is the algebra of revolution, as posited by Frantz Fanon.

I have stated that the ecological and aquatic devastation caused by oil and gas pollution has been colossal and astronomical when compared to the infinitesimal amount of money we get from the federal purse.

On that note it is important that we come up with a  credible candidate who have the capacity, the sagacity, the audacity, and all the “citys” to fight all the way and I speak based on the  Kantian categorical imperative that Sen. Magnus Ngei Abe is our next governor. Nobody in Rivers State should be scared”.

He hinted that other part members  would soon defect to join Abe.

“ Are you not seeing that the other parties are falling like packs of cards?

Are you not seeing it? PDP is falling like a pack of card, APC is falling like a pack of card, only SDP is the winning train, and nothing is going to stop us.

We know that in the next one or two months a lot of them out there are going to find this place the only source for their light, the only source for their improvement, the only source for their empowerment, the only source for Rivers State growth, and at the end, only honour, victory and adoration shall be given to the Almighty God,” he said.
