Rivers police confirms killing of 3 officers on escort at Rumuokoro flyover

The Police in Rivers State have confirmed the killing of three Police men by yet to be identified gunmen at the Rumuokoro fly over in Port Harcourt.

Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, in a statement gave the name of the man who was kidnapped in the attack as Mr Seni Awosike, a staff IGPES Group of Oil and Gas Company at about 14:50pm yesterday.

According to Grace Iringe-Koko, “At about 1650hrs, a Staff of IGPES Group of Oil and Gas company, On 24/11/22, along Obiri Ikwere flyover, a green Sienna Vehicle was flashing light on them to stop but they refused.

“Later the Managing Director, Mr Seni Awosike, the kidnapped victim asked them to stop whilst they were wearing military uniform along Rumuokoro flyover.

“The hoodlums opened gunfire and shot three mobile Police Officers, who died on the spot.

“Investigation is ongoing”, she disclosed.
