Fubara suspends AKULGA chairman

Governor Siminialayi Fubara of Rivers State has suspended the caretaker chairmen of Akuku-Toru local government area of the state, Barrister Otonye Briggs.

 No reason was given for the suspension of the council chairman.

The suspension which was contained in a statement by the Nelson Chukwudi, Chief Press Secretary to the Rivers State Governor, directed the suspended chairman to handover to Bitebobo Nelson Amieye who is expected to assme duty immediately.

The statement reads: “The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of AkukuToru Local Government Area, Hon Barrister Otonye Briggs, has been suspended with immediate effect.

“The Governor has directed Hon Bitebobo Nelson Amieye, to immediately take over as Chairman.

“Barrister Otonye Briggs is hereby directed to hand over all council property in his possession to the Caretaker Committee Chairman”.
