By: Felix Ikpotor

The councillor representing Ward 4 in the newly constituted Khana Legislative Council in Rivers State, Ndiika Benson has lost his father, Mr Benson Ndoone following the violent crisis that rocked the state on Monday.

Ndoone, who is a security staff of the Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori, was reportedly killed when suspected opposition political thugs protesting the outcome of the local council elections held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in Rivers State stormed the Rector’s Lodge, in an attempt to destabilize the swearing-in of the councillors.

Recall that the Rector’s Lodge had housed the secretariat of the outgone Caretaker Committee led by Marvin Yobana following the over three months siege on the councils by officers of the Rivers State Police Command.

Ndoone, who hails from Zor-Sogho in the area was also said to be a member of the Community’s Development Committee, CDC, before his death.
