Abe Congratulates New KAGOTE Leadership

Chairman of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW), Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, has sent his warm congratulations to KAGOTE, the apex socio-cultural umbrella body of the Ogoni ethnic nationality, and the President-General of the group, Chief Leesi Maol, on the successful inauguration of its new Executive Committee.‎‎

The Senator, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Parry Saroh Benson, described the newly sworn-in Executive Committee members as a formidable team capable of redefining the core essence of the body as established by its forebears.‎‎

Abe described Chief Leesi Maol as an entrepreneur of no mean repute, a philanthropist, and a visionary leader whose leadership qualities will enhance the programmes and overall progress of the Ogoni people.‎‎

The Senator, a former Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG), and Chairman designate of Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission ( NUPRC), thanked the Ogoni people for electing men well suited for sustainable development to pilot the affairs of KAGOTE—an acronym for Khana, Gokana, Tai, and Eleme.‎‎

He said, “This milestone reflects strong leadership, unity, and a shared commitment to progress.‎‎“It is our prayer that the new Exco will serve with wisdom, integrity, and dedication, with the hope that this new chapter will bring growth, stability, and meaningful achievements for the entire Ogoni ethnic nationality.‎‎

“Wishing you every success as you lead forward,” he added.‎‎

The newly elected Exco members sworn-in to pilot the affairs of KAGOTE are: Chief Leesi Maol, President-General;‎Barrister Baride Gwezia, 1st Vice President (Tai); Rear Admiral Nicholas Bakpo (Rtd.), 2nd Vice President (Khana);‎Mr. Osaroeppie Nana Mube, 3rd Vice President (Eleme); Chief Obo Obaa, General Secretary (Eleme).

‎‎Others include; Chief Eric Nwibani, Treasurer (Khana); HRH (Mene) Kadilo Kabari, Welfare Officer (Gokana);‎Hon. Dr. Jacobson Nbina, Financial Secretary (Tai); Sir Mimi Aaron Mimi, Legal Adviser (Eleme); Comrade Menele Nzidee, Publicity Secretary (Khana); Pst. Suanu Tuanu Anyekere, Assistant Secretary (Tai); and Sir John Paschal Nalley, Ex-Officio (Gokana).‎‎
