Rivers NSCDC Commandant Charges Officers on Proffesionalism, Dedication to Service

Rivers State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Cmdt Dennis Lesor Reuben, has  charged officers and men of the command to refrain from actions capable of bringing disrepute to the Corps.

‎The State Commandant gave the charge  during the weekly Muster Parade of the Command.

‎ Cmdt Reuben seized  the opportunity to commend officers and men of the Command for their continued efforts, commitment, and cooperation towards the growth and development of the Command.

‎The State Commandant, further disclosed that, he had approved the deployment of 10 officers for training in Abuja.

‎Reiterating his commitment to the welfare of officers, he reminded the officers of  the ongoing NSCDC housing scheme, made available to Deputy Commandants (DCs) and Assistant Commandant’s (ACC’S). He  announced that the scheme would also be made available to other interested officers, subject to the initial payment of 10 percent equity.

‎The Commandant also addressed the issue of official passports for DC’S and AC’S , noting that the instrument would facilitate international travels and other official engagements. According to him, the passport offers visa-free access to more than 10 countries, including China and Brazil.

‎On discipline and adherence to official procedures, the Commandant expressed concern over reports that some officers had undertaken unauthorized duties. He cautioned those involved, stating that officers who engage in unauthorized assignments would be required to bear the consequences of their actions.

‎Reuben also announced that 25 members of the Command’s Band  have been scheduled to attend refresher courses in Abuja, anytime soon, while new unifos have also been provided for them to enhance their performance.

‎He further announced the provision of a Sienna bus  for the band members to facilitate their movement and enable them to effectively perform at official functions and other approved occasions.

‎Concluding his address, the State Commandant highlighted his commitment to supporting the families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and further disclosed plans for consistent support to their children, while reaffirming his commitment to the well-being of serving personnel.
