Police confirms abduction of oil workers in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command Saturday, confirmed the abduction of Fourteen oil workers in the state.

The bus carrying the Nest Oil workers was hijacked by hoodlums along the Elele/Omoku Road after several gunshots.

Phspectator gathered that the workers were returning from a site in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state before their vehicle was hijacked. The heavily armed hoodlums we learn, ordered the driver of the coaster bus to drive to an unknown destination.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni who confirmed the incidence said they have recovered the bus while the manhunt for the workers and their abductors is ongoing.

He appealed to people of the area to remain calm while the manhunt continues. It would be recalled that ONELGA was one of the areas where the state government was said to have given amnesty to some repentant cultists and militants.
