Reports say UEFA Wednesday, overwhelmingly voted Aleksander Ceferin of Slovenia as its new president after its former president Michel Platini was forced to stand down from the post.
The new president who is 48 and a lawyer polled 42 of the 55 votes against 13 for his Dutch challenger Michael van Praag to emerge winner.
In his speech after the election, the new UEFA boss said he has come to tackle the problems facing the body.
Ceferin said: “I am here to find ways to tackle all the problems that surround our game as someone with a new and clear vision.”
