Fayose not decamping to APC– PDP

Despite rumours in some quarters, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti state has declared that the state governor, Ayodele Fayose, will never decamp to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The party made this remark while reacting to a recent statement credited to the APC saying Fayose is not wanted in its fold.

Ekiti PDP described the statement credited to the All Progressives Congress in the state as unfortunate, claiming that no reasonable Nigerian would want to join APC that has brought Nigeria to its knees within the short period it is in power.

According to a statement issued by its publicity secretary, Jackson Adebayo, the PDP in Ekiti State insisted that even if APC consults an “oracle”, Fayose will not team up with the party.

According to Adebayo, “We want to say without sounding immodest that even if APC consult oracle from now till 2018 ,Fayose will not join them because nobody would leave city for the jungle to search for mansion”.

Recall that Fayose had recently hinted that he may decamp from the PDP  ahead of the 2018 governorship election in the state.

Fayose’s outburst led to insinuations in certain quarters that the Governor may likely defect to the APC.

He however, dismissed the claim, saying he has no plans to defect to the ruling APC.

Before the Governor’s statement, APC in Ekiti State, had while responding to the rumour, told him to look elsewhere and forget any hope of joining the party because he will not be needed.
