The senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, Magnus Ngei Abe has lauded the judiciary over the judgment of the Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja that validated his December 10, 2016 election victory.
Abe while speaking to newsmen shortly after the judgment of the Tribunal which was presided over by Hon. Justice Goody l. Anunihu, said the victory was for all Rivers people particularly, Rivers South East Senatorial District.
He urged his opponent, Senator Olaka Nworgu and his supporters to see the decision of the tribunal as victory for the people of the area.
The Gokana-born lawmaker said what should be of paramount concern to every person from the senatorial district is how to bring the dividends of democracy, assuring the people that very soon they would reap the dividend of voting for him.
Abe said he would not discriminate against anyone and that it did not matter whether anybody from the senatorial district voted for him or not and further called on the people to support him.
Senator Abe thanked the Almighty God for giving him victory, promising that he would be faithful to Rivers people.
“I want to congratulate the judiciary and all Rivers People. I think this is a victory for all of us and all those who believe in democracy and due process. I think at this point in time, l will like to appeal to everybody that it is time to let go of this quagmire and give the people of our senatorial district the opportunity to benefit from the dividends of democracy . I thank all those who voted for me and all those who did not vote for me. I thank God Almighty who has made all things possible”.
Recall that the Tribunal sitting in Abuja had on Monday, July 26 dismissed the petition of Olaka Nworgu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, challenging Abe’s victory.
