Rivers State is set to host the 4th edition of Garden City Advancement Award.
The Garden City Advancement Award was created in 2014 to identify, celebrate and showcase excellence in the Garden City and it has been endorsed by the Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The organizers of the event through its principal partner; Mr. Robinson Koyoyo revealed that the 4th edition of the Awards is scheduled to hold on Saturday 28 October, 2017 in Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt.
According to Koyoyo, “GACAA is one of the most coveted Awards, as it not only honors distinguished recipients across various
sectors but also strengthens excellence, encourages peace and has continue to blaze the trail since its inception in the state.
This year’s edition which is the 4th in its series promises to be
unique and exceptional as it comprises of categories that celebrates those who have been instrumental to the advancement and development of the Garden City.
Some of persons who hjave previous received the award include: NUPENG President, Dr. Igwe Achese, Engr sam Adjogbe, Mr. Jack Rich-Tein jr, MD of Belema Oil, Pelfaco Limited, Meridian Hospital and Dova Engineering, Duncan Mighty amongst others.
This year’s edition has the theme: “Diversifying Rivers State Economy Beyond Oil – Practical Solutions and Prospects”.
According to the Executive Secretary; Ms. Aliba Juliet Dandison, the aim of the Awards established under the auspices of Heritage Plus is to honor individuals, companies and works regardless of race, nationality, gender and religious belief, who have achieved significant breakthrough in their chosen fields of endeavor and whose work has resulted in a positive and profoun impact to humankind.
