Rivers South East: Mba declares for Senate

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, a former member of Rivers State House of Assembly, Barr. Chris Mba has made public his intention to represent Rivers South East Senatorial District in the senate under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

Mba who was a Member of Due Process Office under former governor of Rivers state, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi made his official declaration on Thursday in Bori, Khana local government area, headquarters of the district.

The Andoni-born politician said he decided to contest for the Rivers South East Senatorial district seat after wide consultations with leaders and stakeholders of the APC at all levels.

While promising effective and quality representation to his people if voted in 2019, Mba said he is not unaware of the task of filling ‘a very big shoe’ to replicate and surpass the achievements of the present occupant, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe.

Abe is aspiring for the position of governor of Rivers State.

He promised to consolidate on the achievements of  Abe.

‘I have made wide consultations with leaders and stakeholders of our great party in Rivers South East district and got overwhelming support to contest for the senatorial seat.

“I have worked closely with Senator Magnus Abe and he has represented us very well, and has impacted greatly on the seven local government areas that made up the district.

“I will consolidate on the achievements of Abe and follow up his programmes.  I will give the people of Rivers South East effective and quality representation if voted as senator come 2019”, he pledged.
