Idris Kpotun Ibrahim is new IG

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mr. Idris Kpotum Ibrahim from Niger state as the new Inspector General of Police.

Mr. Idris, former Kano State Police Commissioner is an Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations at the Force Headquarters before his appointment as the new IGP

He will replace Solomon Arase, who retires from the police force as he attains the age of 60 today.

The new IGP is currently meeting with the President in the State House.

He is said to be the first man from Middle Belt to be made IGP.
