Wike installed insecurity architecture in Rivers State – APC

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has expressed shock over what he called plot to reverse the gains made by the state in the promotion of security of lives and property, through the reposting of compromised police officers back to the state.

Governor stated that he had officially informed the new Inspector-General of Police of the several postings of officers used by politicians to compromise Rivers State Security.

Wike, while he addressing medical practitioners at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday said that Inspector-General of Police fail to act, he will be compelled to make a state broadcast, name the said officers and the ignominious roles they played in compromising the security of the state and also pointed out that a senior police officer indicted for aiding kidnappers and cultists in the state had been posted back in the current attempt to manipulate the security architecture of the state.

Wike adding that the officer in question was posted out of Rivers State in March 2016 after the ugly roles he played during the last rerun elections.

“They are posting back security agents who have access to kidnappers. They are sending back security agents who will compromise the security of Rivers State”.

He regretted that there was a plot to politicize the security of lives and property in the state so as to make political gains at the expense of the peace loving people of the state.

“They want to deny our people the peace we enjoy today by compromising our security network.”

He noted that security agencies must learn a lesson from what happened in Turkey where the people stood up to defend their mandate.

Governor stated that Rivers people will always make the necessary sacrifices to ward-off compromised security agents posted to the state to compromise the security network and steal their mandate.

He said that those sent to the state by the political interest groups to rig the forthcoming elections will receive the treatment reserved for armed robbers.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), said its attention has been drawn to a statement by Governor Nyesom Wike Monday expressing shock that there is a “plot to reverse the gains made by the state in the promotion of security of lives and property through the re-posting of compromised police officers back to the state.”
The APC in a press release signed by its spokesperson Senibo Chris Finebone said “we are still at a loss whether the governor made this statement and if he truly did so, then he qualifies to be the greatest
living soul in the art of fantasy and make-believe.”
The statement noted that the Rivers people nay Nigerians know that Nyesom Wike’s strategy for political survival is to purchase and pocket the police, other security agencies and the judiciary, adding
that examples of his escapades abound for all to see.
The party said they believe that the assertion was a sign of frustration after his pact with the erstwhile Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase to plant a Police Commissioner in Rivers State to do the governor’s bidding collapsed as a result the work of providence, and maintained that “it is on record that specific senior police officers that are at Wike’s beck and call in Rivers State who were recently posted out of the State have started finding their way back.  The governor is simply crying wolf to cover his ignominious tracks.”
“Gov. Nyesom Wike cannot talk about security architecture for Rivers State when his dismantling of the near perfect security arrangement the former governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi put in place has since resulted into the present security basket case in Rivers State” the APC stated.
According to the APC, Wike intended to quarrel with the efforts by the Police to alter the ‘insecurity architecture’ he deliberately installed in Rivers State, alleging that Gov. Wike it was dismantled the Israeli-trained C4i unit that banished kidnapping and other dangerous crimes in Rivers State during the administration of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
APC also recalled that it was the PDP and Nyesom Wike that revived, activated and franchised already dismantled cult groups across the State for the purpose of killing and hijacking the 2015 election results in Rivers State.
“It is on record that the governor has now realised that he cannot rein in his creation that has become classical Frankenstein monster. His recent cosmetic attempts to appear to be fighting criminality is only to fool the public while the real motive is to compensate his private armies across Rivers State and prepare them for the forthcoming rerun elections” the APC declared.
The party (APC) called on the new Inspector-General of Police and other security chiefs to ignore Gov. Nyesom Wike’s antics by ensuring that his mafia-type strangle-hold on the Nigeria Police and other security agencies is finally broken and laid to rest.
