Four in court for stealing in Port Harcourt

Four suspects, Promise Adikom, Innocent Aleru, Jolly Nnanta and Gift Okocha have been arraigned in a Magistrate Court sitting in Choba, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area for conspiracy, stealing and breach of the peace.

The four suspects are alleged to have conspired amongst themselves to obtain the sum of eight hundred thousand naira in false pretence from one Barrister Ben Onoriode-Uzere on 19 May 2008.

They are also alleged to have fraudulently stolen the sum of one million, six hundred naira as proceeds from the sale of a property entrusted to them by the same Onoriode-Uzere and have conducted themselves in a manner causing a breach of peace, an offence punishable under the Rivers State Criminal code.

The suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges.

 Chief Magistrate Israel Agbaesor granted them bail in the sum of five hundred thousand naira each and one surety and adjourned the matter to 6 October 2020 for hearing.
