ENDSARS is a wake-up call to all Nigerians – Nsirim

Chairman, Rivers State chapter of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Paulinus Nsirim has said, that the #EndSars protest, is a wake-up call to all Nigerians despite creed or tribes.

Speaking at the presentation of the PR Vision Magazine of the chapter in Port Harcourt recently, the state chairman who is also the Commissioner for Information and Communication challenged Public Relations practitioners to take advantage of the Protest and get involve in agenda setting and shaping of the reputation of Nigeria.

He urged practitioners to be in the forefront for citizens to demand good governance from their leaders in order to promote sustainable development.

Nsirim maintained that the EndSars, is not just something to talk about, but a call for the re-awakening of the consciousness of the people to demand accountability from the government.

” I have challenged Public Relations practitioners in Rivers state and Nigeria, to see the opportunity of the EndSars Protest, to get involve in agenda setting and shaping of reputation of the nation.

The time has come to begin to make our leaders to understand that the social contract with the people is very important and should not be treated with levity.

It is not something to talk about but something to re-awaken the consciousness of all Nigerians to demand accountability from our leaders,” Nsirim said.

He said the PR Vision Magazine will provide insight on the global trend for Public Relations practitioners to be outstanding in the practice of their profession.

On his part, chairman of the occasion, Eze Felix Otuwarikpo, a Fellow of the Institute and regent of Ekpeye land in Rivers State, represented at the event by Eze Ikaki Ikaki called on the Rivers State government to synergize with professional organizations in order to foster good governance.

The PR Magazine was unveiled by the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Tonye Briggs-Oniyide.
