Scores die at Pinkcoin Christmas palliative sharing centre in Rivers

No fewer than eight persons were feared dead Tuesday morning following a stampede that occurred at a Pinkcoin office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Eyewitnesses said   the incident, which happened at about 7:30am, at Rumudara Town, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state, was caused by a stampede.

Pinkcoin is an online blockchain digital assets designed for giving charity.

Thousand of registered members were said to have gathered at the scene to collect some Christmas palliatives.

It was gathered that the  Pinkcoin coordinators invited everyone who registered with them in Obio/Akpor LGA to come and redeem their Christmas palliatives which resulted into the unfortunate incident.

However, the management of the  outfit couldn’t  control the crowd of persons, who struggled to gain access to the office.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, said he was still monitoring the situation.
