Rivers commissioner sacked while briefing journalists

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday sacked the State Commissioner for Environment, Dr Igbiks Tamuno.

According to a statement by Kelvin Ebiri, the special assistant to the Governor on Media, the sacked Commissioner was directed to submit all Government Documents and Property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment.

O reason was immediately given for the commissioner’s sack.

Igbiks was briefing journalists on the sooth ravaging the state at the conference hall of the Ministry of Justice when he stopped in the middle of the programme to attend to a call at the government house, handing over to his permanent secretary to continue with the briefing.

However, while journalists were yet to depart the venue of the briefing, Ebiri’s statement indicating the sack of the commissioner came in.
