RCCG will not comply with FG’s Twitter ban-Adeboye

Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has reacted to the ban on Twitter operations in the country by the federal government.

The Federal Government on Friday suspended indefinitely the operations of the microblogging platform in the country.

The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed who made the announcement had said the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence was the reason for the suspension.

However, the renowned cleric in a tweet on his Twitter handle on Monday said tweeting is in accordance with Article 19 of the UN universal declaration of human rights.

According to him, his Redeemed Christian Church of God will not comply with a directive banning Twitter in Nigeria.

“The Redeemed Christian Church of God is domiciled in more than 170 Nations & Territories.

“The tweets here are in accordance to Article 19 of the UN universal declaration of Human Rights,” he wrote.
