Management of the Rivers State owned Ignatius Ajuru University of Education says it has suspended one Chimara Prince of the Guidance & Counselling Department for having large sacks of substance suspected to be Indian hemp in his possession, which he reportedly sold freely to fellow students in the hostel.
The institution also alleged that Prince is a chronic marijuana smoker, a habit he openly engages in in the hostel without regard for the feelings of his roommates.
Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, in a statement said the suspect has been handed over to the police for further interrogation and that his case has also been referred to the Senate Disciplinary Committee to decide whether or not to expel him.
Professor Ndimele saluted the courage of students who brought “this dangerous act of Mr. Chimara Prince” to the knowledge of the school management.
