Rivers council boss, Lloyd defends security investment

Chairman, Emohua Local Government Area in Rivers State, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, has stated that his administration is investing extensively on security because insecurity remains the area’s largest challenge.

Lloyd made the revelation while speaking at the flag-off  of  the construction of the Egbeda Divisional Police Headquarters Building in the council.

He stated that his administration was already constructing a divisional police headquarters facility along Emohua-Kalabari Road, opposite the Rivers State University, Emohua campus.

“One of our major challenges in Emohua LGA is insecurity, that’s why we’re investing heavily in security.

“We are already completing a storey building police divisional headquarters in Emohua, opposite the Emohua campus of Rivers State University, which we intend to commission, along with other completed projects, during our second year anniversary celebration in October,” he said.

Aside from the police buildings, he said his administration had recently refurbished and handed over an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APV) to the Rumuji Divisional Police headquarters, and that plans are in the works to hand over two additional Hilux vehicles to the two police divisions in the area.

In his remarks, Rivers State Commissioner of Police Nwonyi Emeka praised Lloyd for his dedication towards reducing crime in the area.
