In a move to restore peace and address the lingering security and leadership challenges in Baa and Ka-Lorre communities, Chairman of Khana LGA, Dr. Thomas Bariere, has inaugurated a peace and leadership committee.

The committee is chaired by Kenneth Johnson Lewa, Special Adviser on Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, other members include; Clement Nzor, Nkue Bright Dumsira, Bariledum Nkue, Lelesi Peter, Johnson Kinanee, Barieenee Nloga, Anthony Gbaramana, the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) of Bori and Taabaa, as well as the Bori Commander of the Department of State Services (DSS). They were charged to restore lasting peace in the affected communities.
During the inauguration, the council chairman directed security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation into the killing of the youth presidents of Baa and Ka-Lorre, stressing that anyone found culpable must be brought to justice without fear or favour.

The Chairman also directed that the two paramount rulers mentioned in connection with the allegations, Chief Honest Apinee of Ka-lorre and Chief Neenalebari Wilson of Baa-Lorre, to temporarily step aside to allow for a transparent and independent investigation, emphasizing that the directive is intended to ensure due process and should not be construed as a declaration of guilt.
Bariere further mandated the committee to review all chieftaincy, Community Development Committee (CDC), youth, and other leadership issues in the two communities within six months, after which credible youth elections will be conducted under adequate security.
Speaking after the inauguration, Committee Chairman, Kenneth Johnson commended Dr. Thomas Bariere for his bold and proactive leadership, describing the initiative as a significant step toward restoring justice, peace, and sustainable development in the affected communities.
