Every birthday is an opportunity to celebrate the priceless gift of life. But some birthdays transcend personal milestones to celebration of exceptional service. That was the case on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, when staff of the registry, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, surprised their Registrar, Dr. Chinonye Abraham Ajie, on his 64th birthday.
From the entrance of the administrative building, the Registrar was ushered into his office with happy birthday songs and accolades.
The Director of Exams and Records, Barrister Tamuno-Opubo Tamsy Minainyo, described Dr. Ajie as a seasoned administrator and distinguished public servant whose administrative resourcefulness continues to enrich the university and inspire all who have the privilege of working with him. Barr. Minainyo, on behalf of the Committee of Directors and the entire registry staff, wished the Registrar good health and God’s grace as he continues to pilot the university registry.
On her part, the Chairman of Rumuolumeni Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Dr. Patience Nwanguma-Kakoro, eulogised the Registrar for his calm disposition, fairness, accessibility, and exemplary leadership, adding that he deserved to be celebrated.
In a brief response, the Registrar expressed gratitude to the registry staff for the honour shown him, describing it as a delightful surprise. He underscored the need for commitment and dedication to duties, emphasising that nature has a way of rewarding diligence, and prayed that they would be honoured when least expected.
