Negligence: RIWAMA sack 2 service providers

Warn  others to sit-up or get fired

Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah has terminated the contract of two service providers with the agency for non-performance.

Obuah who announced the sack of the service providers while carrying out his early morning routine checks in parts of Port Harcourt, the state capital and its environs on Thursday, April 8, 2021, said the sack of the service providers, became necessary following their inability to keep their zones clean in spite of repeated warnings and appeals by the agency, describing their actions as sabotage and dereliction of duty.

The Sole Administrator assured that the measure would serve as a deterrent to other recalcitrant service providers who do not want to take their jobs seriously.

He also vowed that the agency would no longer spare any service provider who is not ready to work and keep their areas clean, daily.

PHSpectator recalls that the RIWAMA boss had recently, charged service providers working with the agency to take their work seriously or have their contracts terminated, even as he reiterated that the task to keep Port Harcourt, the state capital and its environs clean at all times is a mission that must be accomplished and frowned particularly at the nonchalance of some contractors in the discharge of their duties.
