Gunmen struck again at the Diobu axis of Rivers State, killing one Kelvin Uzoma Efule at Ojike Street.
The incident happened Saturday night.
Diobu axis of Port Harcourt in the past few days have become a flashpoint of cult related killings even though PHSpectator could not ascertain if the deceased was a cultist or not.
Some residents of the area said the 29-year-old was killed for refusing to hand over his phone to the suspected killers.
However, while confirming the incident to our reporter, sister to the deceased who identified herself simply as Oluchi said her brother was shot at the junction between Ojike/Lumumba Street when he went to get food.
She said: “he came back from work, took his bath and decided to go out to get food for himself. We where in the house when they came to call us that he has been shot.”
She confirmed that he was shot by hoodlums and his phone was also collected from him.
Miss Oluchi also said the matter has been reported at the Mile 1 Police Station.
She urged security agencies in the state to fish out the killers of her brother and also debunked insinuation that the murder of her brother was cult related as she said he was not a cultists and works in a reputable company in D/Line axis of the city.
A neighbor in the compound where the deceased lived who preferred anonymity described him as a good person and further wondered why he was targeted for assassination.
Police is yet to comment on the matter but, the State Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka since assumption of office has reiterated his desire to rid the state of all criminal elements.
