Chairman of Rivers APC Elders’ Forum dumps party

By: Felix Ikpotor

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Hon. Tolofari Goerge has resigned from the party.

George, a strong ally of the former minister of transportation, Chibuike Amaechi announced his resignation in a statement he issued.

The former commissioner for transportation in Rivers State was until his resignation, chairman of Rivers APC Elders’ Forum that nominated Tonye Cole as consensus riverine candidate of the party.

His resignation comes barely twenty four hours after another member of the elders’ forum, Dr. Theodore Georgewill left the party.

He said in the statement that he was no longer convinced to remain in the party.

“My dear leaders, brothers and sisters, good morning

This may come as a surprise to many but regrettably I wish to inform you all personally that I’m no longer convinced remaining in the All Progressives Congress. Therefore, I have decided to quit effective immediately

Let me thank each and everyone of you for your support and love shown me these past years while we worked together as party men and women. Together we’ve been through a lot and have come out strong in most cases. I can never take your support for granted and will cherish those fond memories.

I wish you all success in the forthcoming elections in 2023,” he wrote.

Thank you

George Tolofari
