Courts remands man, lover in prison for attempted murder

A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt, has remanded 40 year old Chima Amadi and 22 year old Orluchi Chima in prison custody, for inflicting grievous body harm and attempted murder of 40 years old Leticia Chima, at Omerelu, in Ikwerre Local Government Area on 15 August, 2022.

The State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) had on Monday 5, September 2022, brought the case to court in form of remand order.

The suspects did not take their plea as no charge was read to the accused in the court.

Chief Magistrate Rita Oguguo, adjourned the case to September 23, 2022, for possible arraignment of the Defendants on the charges the court has jurisdiction on.

It will be recalled that Warisi Anayo elder brother to Leticia Chima in an interview with journalists had accused the sister’s husband Chima Amadi and the female lover of using machete to allegedly cut her severally for inquiring from the husband why he brought his female lover to the house on August 15, 2022.

The suspects were arrested by Elele Police Division and later transferred to State CIID, Port Harcourt.

Meanwhile, Amadi has insisted that the woman he brought home is not his female lover but his second wife.
