APC vs PDP: Fubara, PDP candidates to know fate November 10

A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned to 9th and  10th November, 2022 for judgement in a suit filed by APC in Rivers against PDP governorship candidate and it’s State Assembly candidates for allegedly violating provisions of the Electoral Act

The APC had approached the court asking it to direct the Independent National Electoral Commission not to recognize the State House of Assembly candidates y of PDP for allegedly violating the Electoral Act by not appropriately signing the register containing the names of the candidates and as well submitting it late to INEC.

At the resumed hearing on the matter, Counsel to PDP House of Assembly candidates, Emmanuel Ukala raised preliminary objection on jurisdiction of the court to hear the matter with the argument that the suit was filed out of time .

Presiding Judge, Justice OBILE after listening to the representatives of the parties, adjourned till 10th of November, 2022 for judgment after parties adopted their final written addresses.

Also, Justice Obile in a separate suit filed by APC against PDP governorship candidate, Siminialayi Fubara also adjourned to 9th of November, 2022 for judgment.
