Rivers Commissioner bags NDMPN Award 

The Honourable Commissioner for Education in Rivers State, Dr. Peter NWAGOR has been honoured for his  excellent service delivery in government policies and programmes by the Niger Delta Media Practitioners of Nigeria NDMPN.

‎Speaking at a brief presentation, the Convener of Niger Delta Media Practitioners of Nigeria NDMPN Amb Joseph Asomeji said they were at the Hon. Commissioner’s office in compliance with the implementation of the report of NDMPN committee who carried out secret investigation of the contributions of the Commissioner prior and after his appointment into Rivers State executive council.

‎Amb. Asomeji congratulated Dr. Nwagor  on his appt as the Commissioner for Education in Rivers State, that the Commissioner have recorded several milestone in his few months in office including regular briefing and monitoring of activities through government policies and programmes to sustain the great achievements in the education sector of Rivers state.

‎He maintained that the essence of the visit was to encourage him just as they do to other stakeholders who are in the speed lane on the purpose for which they were employed, hence the need to remain focus and redouble his effort considering the fact that Rivers State governor, sir Similanaye Fubara attach much important in his ministry.

‎The convener further explained that NDMPN is an association practicing Journalists from Niger Delta region with intent of f using their pen to bring to the front burner issues affecting the devil of the region, positing the media group is known for regular distribution of learning aids and hospital consumables, hence his appeal for the sponsorship of the next phase it’s Corporate social responsibility projects of donation of learning aids at Government Secondary Ozuzu in Etche local government area of Rivers state, scheduled for Monday 1st June 2026.

‎Responding on the honour done him the Rivers state Commissioner for Education Hon. Dr. Peter Nwagor thanked the NDMPN members for finding him worthy of the recognition among his counterparts , saying that the ministry under his watch is responsible on all government activities bothering on education, adding that they will continue to explore every available means to ensure that the standard of education Rivers State will improve to meet the standard requirements.

‎While  commending the corporate social responsibility projects initiatives of NDMPN which has direct bearing on the students at the public schools, he promised that his ministry will participate in the sponsorship of the next phase of the project schedule for June next month.

‎High point of the event was the handing over of the award plaque to the Commissioner by the deputy Board of Trustees Chairman, Mr. Steve Okeke.
