There are indications that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has agreed to postpone September 10 gubernatorial Edo State governorship election.
The spokesman for the commission, Nick Dazang, who confirmed this, said the election would now hold on a new date no less than two weeks from Saturday.
According to him, “We have now decided to shift the election forward for another two weeks.
“We would announce a new date within the next 24 hours.”
Meanwhile, chairman of the commission, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, is planning to address a press conference soon.
Godwin Obaseki, the APC candidate, is slugging it out with Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the PDP in the race to replace incumbent Adams Oshiomhole whose two-term tenure expires this November.
