Ekini-Igbo stool: Court declares Amadi-Worlu rightful occupant

A High Court siting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital  has declared  that His Royal Majesty, Eze Chike Amadi-Worlu, is the rightful occupant of the Nye-Nwe Ali Apara Ekini-Igbo Kingdom stool in Rumuigbo clan of  Obio Akpor local government area of Rivers  State.

Since after the demise of the former paramount ruler, Eze S.N Wali, the stool has been a subject of legal dispute between Eze Chike Amadi-Worlu and Morrison Amadi for over three years.

Eze Amadi-Worlu had approached the court to challenge his unlawful removal from the stool as Paramount Ruler of Apara Ekini-Igbo Kingdom.

Delivering judgement on the matter, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, ruled that the defendant, Morrison Amadi failed to defend his case with substantial proof, and cautioned the Defendant to desist from parading himself as the Paramount Ruler of Ekini-Igbo kingdom.

On his part, Temple Amadi who is the counsel to Eze Chike Amadi-Worlu, said the judgement is well deserved, as the ruling will bring peace to Ekini-Igbo Community, stressing that the ruling which is based on truth was against the person who was purportedly crowned to replace his client.

Also speaking, counsel to the defendants, Dickson Owekwulo, said that the court in it wisdom has applied the law where necessary, adding the court ruling states that the claimant made out their case contrary to the position of the Defendant.

He however said he will study the ruling with his client before taking further action on whether to appeal the judgement.
