The people of Ogba in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of Rivers State are in joyous mood following celebration of the 80th birthday/ 50th enthronement anniversary of the king of the area, His Eminence, Sir (Dr.) Chukumela Nnam Obi II (Eze-Ogba, Oba of Ogbaland).
In a congratulatory message by the Omoku Peoples Forum (OPF), they described the King as a living legend whose humble leadership style has earned global recognition and dignity.
The congratulatory message which was signed by the President, Sir, Emeka Ichoku, Secretary, Barrister Godfrey Okrigwe and Director of Media, Hon. Emma Nwabrije said they are glad to associate with the monarch at a time such as this and prayed God to grant him more years to live.
“We are glad to associate with you, more especially at a time like this. Our prayers are that God Almighty bless and keep you, let the light of His countenance shine upon you, grant you more grace, wisdom, peace of heart, good health, strength and longevity to pilot the good people of Ogbaland to her promised land,” the message reads.
Also, the member representing Rivers State in the Federal Character Commission, Hon. Augustine Onyekachi Wokocha also congratulated the king on his double celebration.
Wokocha in his congratulatory message also prayed God to grant him more years in good health.
The message reads in part, “Your Majesty, in this almost 50 years of your reign as King of Ogbaland, your love for the people, endless service and wise leadership has brought great political, economic and social prosperity to the Ogba ethnic nationality”
“Your fatherly leadership style has brought peace and as a result the people are happy with you”.
While I congratulate you Your Majesty, I pray God Almighty to grant you more years in good health to continue to pilot the affairs of Ogbaland and take it to more higher heights”.
Oba Nnam Obi whose 80th birthday coincides with his 50th enthronement anniversary makes him one of the longest serving traditional rulers in Nigeria.
